This little path means so much to me ♡
I must have taken it thousand times…
This passage connects the home where I lived my entire childhood with the rest of the world. I took it every day to go to school, to pick up groceries, visit my grandparents but most importantly it was our preferred play area!
In summer it was full of wild bushes and hazelnut trees with hiding spots only we kids from the neighbourhood knew of; in winter it was the coolest sliding slope ever.
With or without a sledge with gloves wet and heavy with snow stuck to them
we would run that hill up about hundred times to then have a crazy ride down, full of laughter and screams.. we would make a train from our sledges, or we would practice standing in the sledge while going down the hill.. any crazy thing you can think of, we sure tried it and mastered it 🙂
It’s funny how I remember it so much longer and steeper.
Showing Zo where I grew up, where I played hide and seek…. those damn metal door I was so terrified of (I mean, who builts a door in a stone wall and WHY??!! .. right?!) …
Talking about it, showing her all those spots it was very special moment for me.
She is born and we live in different country, in different culture, lifestyle and also means… She and her little brother will never know childhood the way I do.
It’s not to say I’m sad or happy about it because I’m neither… I’m just anxious for her to be able to look back one day with much emotion, gratitude and love at anything which represents or reminds of her own childhood and adventures ♥
Thank you for reading & staying with me.
