Life is good, enjoy it

Second post from my positive quest.

First from two (this year we were cut one short as 1st May fell on Sunday) long May weekends blessed us with fantastic weather (and my in-laws visit). In Geneva we are lucky to have lake (Lac Léman) at our doorstep. Having access to water makes a world of difference, the promenades, views, air, everything is different, better. To top it, the city is surrounded by mountains and the views are just splendid.waterjet

Happiness and joy lies with simple things and going to sit by the lake, getting pizza from a nearby place and finishing with a proper Italian gelato are exactly those simple things…

It’s up to us to find beauty and joy in the moment and appreciate it and it is not an easy thing to do. We are caught up in the daily routine, day to day problems and solutions and tend to loose touch with ourselves. We forget to slow down and look around ourselves. I do. I forgot how to slow down, how to stop and watch. How to be still and let things happen.

This moment on the lake I focused on that… I focused on living in the moment. I just sit there, watched people pass by, the birds fly over the lake, Zo running around and Xav discovering the world. I watched my husband watching around. I felt the sun on my back and the wind in my face. I smelled the summer and water in the air. I was quiet and for the first time in long time, my mind was too.

Life is good, enjoy it ♥
